The Paella Competition
You and your team create spectacular paellas using your vision, creativity and teamwork. Each team competes to craft an innovative, flavourful paella from the ingredients provided.
Your challenge
Turn the ingredients into a masterpiece with support from a professional chef. Our chefs answer questions and help bring your ideas to life, but they do not do everything for you. There are many ways to make this Spanish delicacy, and this is your chance to experiment and create a winning dish.
Prefer a more relaxed day? This can run as a friendly team activity instead of a competition: the same hands-on cooking and shared meal, without the judging or a winning team. Tell us which format suits your group and we will plan it that way.

What is included
- Seafood, chicken and vegetable (Valencian), vegetarian and fusion paellas, with a variety made depending on group size
- Manchego cheese
- Cured Spanish sausages (chorizo and longaniza)
- Hummus with mixed crackers
- Unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks
- Crema Catalana
- For groups over 60: almond cake with fresh berries and whipped cream
How the event runs
- Welcome drinks and snacks (15 minutes)
- Activity briefing (5 minutes)
- Cooking challenge and food preparation (1 hour 25 minutes)
- Lunch or dinner (45 minutes)
- Dessert and networking (15 minutes)
- Awards ceremony (15 minutes)
Questions about this activity
How long does the activity last?
Around three hours, depending on group size and dynamics. Most formats can be adapted to fit a two-hour session.
Which paellas will we make?
Seafood, chicken and vegetable (Valencian), vegetarian and fusion paella with exotic ingredients. Participants make a variety depending on group size.
Can you cater for special diets and allergies?
Yes. We always have options for every participant, including religious and dietary preferences and food allergies. Paella activities always have options everyone can enjoy, and tapas activities have vegetarian and non-pork options. Please tell us in advance.
Where does the activity take place?
We work with 11 exclusive venues across Barcelona for groups of 10 to 350 guests. We recommend the best fit for your date and group size.
